Our Dojo

About Us

Wellington's home of Traditional Shotokan Karate-do, training together since 1992.

The Dojo

Our History & Approach

The TSKF Wellington Dojo has been in operation since 1992. We offer classes for beginner grades and senior grades, with adults and children training in the same class — making it easy for a whole family to join together.

It's an encouraging environment where everyone is constantly learning. Classes include line work, pad work, kata, kumite (sparring) and practical application of techniques.

Regular events include weekend training seminars, Southern Region and National competitions, and our annual Gasshuku event run by TSKF New Zealand Deputy Chief Instructor Mark Willis Shihan.

We are affiliated to the Traditional Shotokan Karate-do Federation (TSKF) and the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). A full list of ISKF New Zealand dojos can be found at iskf.com.
